A
majority of job seekers have a mixture of jobs with a wide range of job
titles that do not sell them well for the positions they want--which
often results in few interviews and low salary offers. In today's fast
paced hiring environment many HR recruiters and employers either won't
take the time or don't have the skill to understand--how and
if--unrelated experience (job titles that don't match) have provided
the applicant with skills that do match employer requirements.
Therefore, it's imperative that each resume clearly illustrate how the
job seeker's background has resulted in skills and abilities that make
them well qualified. Skill-based resumes--resumes based on skill
headings or skill groups--do this very effectively.
Even those candidates with a solid work history
who appear to be good candidates for chronological resumes often find
that the traditional chronological resume doesn't work for them because
their job titles do not show the full-depth of their skills and
abilities. Using skill headings to supplement or broaden job titles can
greatly expand the depth of one's experience in a moment's glance when
looking at a well-prepared resume.

they didn't work and what was done to make them work, click
