Copyright
Restrictions for Educational Purposes
provided by The Copyright Act and HR 2223
...
copying shall not substitute
for the purchase of books...
(teachers often photocopy materials so that their students don't
have to spend money to purchase the materials and this results
in copyright violation...anytime copyrighted materials are unlawfully
duplicated there is no longer a need, or much less need, for
students to purchase the work)
...the effect of the use upon the market potential
is judged to determine copyright violation ...
(when there is not longer a need for a classroom of students
to purchase materials the market value of a copyrighted work
has been greatly diminished and this is judged to determine and
prove copyright violation)
...there may be no copying of
or from works intended to be
"consumable" in the course of study or of teaching
...these include workbooks, worksheets, exercises ...
(the books and booklets in this site contain a very high percentage
of worksheets and exercises which are protected from instructor
photocopying
as well as being consumable)

Duplication
Damages Market Potential
And Violates The Copyright Act and HR 2223
The
materials in this website are derived from my book, booklets
and instructor transparency materials which are written for the
educational market (original copyright obtained in 1992 with
multiple copyright registration in each following year). Any
duplication of the website contents, book, booklets or instructor
transparency materials severely damages and decreases the market
for these products. Such duplication is a violation of The Copyright
Act as stated above. |
