It Feels Like I'm Lying or Exaggerating
Identifying and marketing your highest level skills to match the job you want is one key to generating more interviews and higher salary offers.

However, this process puts many people of their comfort zones. During my presentations I almost always hear, "But this sounds like I'm lying or exaggerating. What if the employer finds out that wasn't my real job title?"

Hearing this, my response is to ask these three questions, "Did you do this? Can you do this again? And, is what you're saying truthful and accurate?" If you answer, "Yes," to all three questions then market yourself as strongly as possible - which often means stretching your comfort zone.

As a resume writer, I spend from 2-4 hours with each person developing their resumes and find that time and again, that all job seekers have such feelings.
